Special Learning & Support
Special Learning and Support ensures every student thrives, offering tailored guidance, inclusive teaching, and encouragement for growth and confidence.
Brightwood Academy is committed to providing fully inclusive education through specialized classrooms designed for deaf, blind, autistic, dyslexic, and neurodivergent learners. Highly trained teachers, therapists, and assistive-technology devices will ensure every child receives equal academic opportunity and personalized support.
The school plans to integrate braille devices, audio-enhanced learning tools, sign-language interpreters, tactile resources, speech-to-text systems, sensory rooms, and communication boards. Learners will also receive access to speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and counselling — all offered directly on campus.
Each child requiring additional support will receive a tailored IEP created through collaboration between teachers, therapists, and parents. These plans outline learning goals, accommodations, strategies, and progress tracking to ensure every learner grows at their own pace while still accessing a full academic curriculum.
Brightwood aims to build a community where special needs learners participate in mainstream activities when appropriate — from clubs and cultural programs to certain academic areas. This ensures they develop friendships, confidence, and social skills while also promoting empathy, understanding, and unity across the entire school community.
Our Special Learning and Support program provides personalized guidance for students with diverse learning needs. Through tailored strategies, inclusive teaching, and emotional support, we help every learner build confidence, skills, and independence in a nurturing environment.
