Inclusive Sports provides adapted activities, supportive coaching, and equal opportunities so every student can participate, grow, and enjoy sport.
Brightwood Academy will design modified sports activities that allow deaf, blind, wheelchair-using, neurodivergent, and physically challenged learners to participate fully. Sports like wheelchair basketball, guided running, sensory athletics, and adaptive swimming ensure every student feels valued and included.
Inclusive sports will be supported with tactile equipment, visual aids, vibrating timers, audio signals, adapted balls, mobility-friendly spaces, and specially trained coaches who understand disability-inclusive coaching methods. Safety, comfort, and dignity are priorities.
Learners with special needs will participate in movement therapy, balance training, rhythm-based activities, and guided exercise routines designed to improve physical coordination, emotional expression, and social interaction.
Brightwood plans to host inclusive sports days, team challenges, and mixed-ability events where all learners compete, participate, and celebrate together. This promotes belonging, empathy, unity, and respect throughout the school community.
Our Inclusive Sports & Adaptive Athletics program ensures every student participates confidently, offering modified activities, supportive coaching, and specialised equipment. We celebrate diversity, promote equal opportunity, and empower all learners to thrive through movement, teamwork, and achievement.
